ClacksPast is the online catalogue of Clackmannanshire Council's museum, archives and local history collections.
Everyone with access to the internet can have a virtual 'rummage' through the objects, documents and photographs held by the Council and which reflect the history and heritage of Clackmannanshire.
The listing of the Burgh of Tillicoultry archives has been completed and details of Sauchie, Gartmorn and Coalsnaughton items entered from the Library Local Studies Collection now appear here.
You will also find local newspaper index entries for Gartmorn, Alloa Waterworks and wells, the First World War and the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders and entries for Menstrie, Alva and Blairlogie house and street names.
The archive listings for John Paton, Son & Co. (predecessor of Patons & Baldwins to 1920) and details of the first 22 bundles of Johnstone of Alva Estate Papers (including images for Bundle 3) are also available on the database.
We hope that the people who use the site may be able to help us with quirky and interesting tales which breathe new life into this rich collection of the material culture of Clackmannanshire.
