The biggest turnout yet, of local gymnastic talent was at Tulligarth Leisure Centre on Sunday 20th November, over 200 school pupils performed their floor routines and vault on behalf of their schools. With lots of encouragement and support and in front of hundreds of spectators the children competed for a place in the national finals.
The first two teams in each category will represent Clackmannanshire and Stirling at the Scottish Schools Gymnastics final on Sunday 23rd April 2006 in Bells Sports Centre, Perth. The teams going forward are;

Clackmannanshire Council's Sports Development and Matrix Gymnastics Club organised and delivered a very efficient event, the atmosphere was exciting, welcoming and culminated in the medal ceremony. The sponsors; Clackmannanshire Sports Council, Poppies, Central Contracts, J.K.Tyres, Clackmannanshire Council and Marshall Construction helped to ensure the event was well supported.
The medals and trophies were presented by Councillor Earle and Enid Barton, chairperson Clackmannanshire sports Council, see results list below.
Councillor Earle said ; "This has been a great day of gymnastics, I have enjoyed watching the schools compete, there are some very skilled gymnasts, it is great to see so many boys and girls use their PE skills in another context. "
Enid Barton commented; " The majority of the children in this event were from Clackmannanshire, there is a great wealth of talent in this area, I am sure the qualifiers for the national event in April will do us proud."
Many thanks must go to the people who supported the event in particular; the judges from Scottish Gymnastics, Jim Teirney for commentating, the PE Students and Gayle Young from Stirling University, members of the Matrix Gymnastics Club, primary PE and secondary PE teachers and officers and sports apprentices from sports development.
