An abandoned car amnesty, running for the next four weeks, has been called by Clackmannanshire Council.
From Monday 7th February until Friday 11th March 2005, anyone with an old car they would like to scrap can call for an uplift - free of charge.
The amnesty will be carried out by Environmental Health in conjunction with a local contractor and follows a successful abandoned car amnesty last year which resulted in nearly 90 cars being disposed of for free.
Andrew Young Team Leader (Safety, Health & Environment) explained: "All the vehicle owners have to do is sign a disclaimer form and provide the vehicle registration document. There are no strings attached and the amnesty does not include the Police or Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency."
If anyone has a scrap car they wish disposed of for free they should contact Clackmannanshire Council's Freephone ELSA number 0500 545 540 to arrange disposal.
