Sauchie Nursery School has received a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate following a recent unannounced inspection.

The inspection took place in June and the inspection report has now been published.

Sauchie Nursery received three Grade 6 (excellent) ratings for the quality of their care and support, quality of environment and quality of management and leadership. They also received a Grade 5 (very good) rating for the quality of staffing.

The inspection report describes the staff as having an excellent approach to supporting children's individual needs. Children were extremely well supported, nurtured and encouraged to achieve their potential.

The report adds that the inclusive and creative approach of staff and their thoughtful planning ensured that all children were valued as they had the same opportunities to join in activities and make choices about what they wanted to do.

The staff team were highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to meeting the needs of the children they cared for.
The Sauchie Nursery School headteacher receives high praise in the report which says: "The manager was passionate and committed about providing an excellent service to families. As a result of her leadership we found highly effective systems for consultation with parents, children and partners were firmly embedded in practice."

Education spokesman Councillor George Matchett said: "Once again we have good cause to be proud of one of our nurseries and our dedicated nursery staff. A fantastic result and I am delighted to be able to congratulate everybody concerned."
