Children attending Park Primary Nursery Class are happy, confident and eager to learn, an inspection by the Care Inspectorate has found.

Park Primary School Nursery Class was inspected in May and the inspection report has now been published.

Inspectors graded the nursery as 'Very Good' in all areas of inspection - quality of care and support, quality of environment, quality of staffing and management and leadership.
This inspection found the following strengths:

  • The nursery has a commendable inclusive ethos.
  • Staff worked effectively with parents, children and their support agencies to ensure very good outcomes for children.
  • Staff nurtured the children and took a holistic view to children's learning to effectively support children's emotional health and wellbeing.
  • A particular strength of the service was the ongoing development of the environment for two year olds.
  • Parents recognised that staff knew the children well and were skilled in highlighting children's strengths and areas of difficulty.

Spokesman for Education Councillor George Matchett said: "This inspection report has many positive things to say about the care and education of the children at Park Primary School Nursery Class, and I am pleased to hear that staff have created a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for children. Well done to the whole nursery community for all the hard work they put into making the nursery experience such a positive one for the children. We will be working to ensure that the Park Primary School Nursery continues to improve and develop in the future."
