Ludgate House Resource Centre, which provides respite and day care services for older people in Clackmannanshire has received a very positive report from the Care Inspectorate.

The report, which followed an unannounced inspection in October, awarded grades of Excellent and Very Good in the assessment of the centre's performance, which also included feedback from service users.

The inspector found:

- The quality of care and support was graded very good. Staff recognised that residents and their families had a right to be involved in assessing and improving the quality of the service, and input was encouraged and welcomed
- The quality of the environment was graded as excellent. There were clear guidelines in relation to the maintenance of a safe home environment. Premises were clean and fresh
- The quality of staffing was graded as very good. Inspectors observed that staff were enthusiastic and motivated to provide a good standard of care, and they interacted with residents to provide care and support.
- The quality of management and leadership was graded as excellent. Day to day running of the service was very well managed, and communication and reporting systems were very effective and which supported the smooth running of the service.

Cllr Les Sharp, Convener of Housing, Health and Care commented: "It's very pleasing to see this very good inspection report for Ludgate House, and congratulations to the staff, service users and carers who make the centre such a positive place to be. As the kind of care services that our residents need changes over time, it's important that we continue to improve and adapt the services on offer to meet those developing needs."
