The contract to carry out the rock stabilisation work in Mill Glen, Tillicoultry, has been awarded, a significant step forward in the re-opening of this popular beauty spot to the public. Mill Glen is a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its range of wildlife habitats and important geological features.
The work is scheduled to begin in March 2016 and will take a phased approach beginning with rock stabilisation. The decision to award the contract was taken at a recent meeting of the Council.
The Council also agreed to explore potential funding streams to cover the costs of path and bridge repairs which will make the path, which is an important access route in the Ochils, safe for the public to use again.
