A Care Inspectorate report into ABC Nursery in Alloa says the nursery provides high quality care for children and families in the community.

An Inspector from the Care Inspectorate carried out an unannounced inspection in July.

The Care Inspectorate gave ABC Nursery these grades:

The report states: "The service has a warm and welcoming ethos that contributes positively to parents and children expressing their views and being respected and included in the service.

"Staff actively promote children's health and wellbeing in the nursery. They
provide a wide range of activities and experiences that support children to be
safe, healthy and active.

"The staff team are motivated and caring in their work and committed to
ensuring positive outcomes for children and families. The service provides a range of flexible early learning and childcare options to meet the needs of families in the community."

The Care Inspectorate has also suggested a number of improvements which could be carried out including involving parents in the service and refurbishing the premises.

The inspection report concludes: "Overall, we found that the service provided a high quality of care for children and families in the community. They should continue to build on strengths and take forward areas for improvement set out in this report and in the service improvement plan."

Education Convener Ellen Forson said: "Congratulations to everyone involved in this very good report. The report confirms that this is a nursery of which children, parents and all staff have every reason to be proud. ABC Nursery has many key strengths which have been identified by the Inspectors."
