Over 50 pupils from Alloa and Lornshill Academies took part in the S1+S2 Basketball Competition on 5 February, with some excellent play on show.

The competition featured five teams of boys, four from Alloa and one from Lornshill and three teams of girls, two from Alloa and one from Lornshill taking to the courts at Alloa Academy to compete against each other. All of the games were fast paced with lots of baskets being scored.

The teams worked together and showed off the skills that they have learned and mastered on the court. There was a great atmosphere in the hall with the schools cheering and showing support to their team mates from the side. PE Staff from both Alloa and Lornshill helped and supported the event, and Sports Leaders from both schools along with Sports Development and Active Schools staff helped organise the enjoyable competition.

All the teams competed against each other in a round robin format and the top three from each group received medals - the results were:

Boys 1st - Alloa (Team 1) 2nd - Lornshill 3rd - Alloa (Team 5)

Girls -1st -Lornshill 2nd - Alloa (Team 1) 3rd - Alloa (Team 2)
