Over the past four months 17 teams from 16 primary schools have battled it out for the 2014/15 Badminton League title.

The Badminton League is part of the Clackmannanshire Primary Schools Sports Association (CPSSA) programme. After 64 inter-school matches and almost 600 individual games six schools qualified for the final which was held at Lornshill Academy.

This year's finalists were Alva, Sunnyside, Menstrie, Redwell, Strathdevon and Tillicoultry Primaries. Each match consisted of 4 singles games, 4 level doubles games and 1 mixed doubles game. The singles and level doubles comprised of 2 boys' games and 2 girls' games.

On the day there could only be one winner and this year that accolade went to Tillicoultry Primary School who collected the Shena Mailer Shield and the Gold Medals defeating defending champions Menstrie in the final. Alva collected the Bronze Medals for their 3rd place finish, Strathdevon finished 4th with Sunnyside and Redwell 5th and 6th respectively.

The two finalists Tillicoultry and Menstrie will now go on to compete in the Regional Primary Quaich competition, against two teams from Stirling, with the potential to qualify for the national event at Ravenscraig in February.
