A consultation on a draft Autism Strategy for Clackmannanshire and Stirling is looking for views to help shape the delivery of local services.

Whether you are someone on the autistic spectrum, a family member or carer for someone with autism, a professional, or are simply interested in influencing the delivery of local services, the consultation would like to hear from you. Views can be given online, and a number of consultation events are also taking place, including one in Alloa:

20th November, 6.30 - 8 pm: New Struan School, 100 Smithfield Loan, Alloa

Autism is a condition which affects how an individual communicates with and relates to other people and the world around them. It is increasingly recognised in children and adults, and is more common than juvenile diabetes and childhood cancers combined.

Autism affects the lives of many in our communities. A lack of awareness and understanding of autism can lead to a range of problems, from isolation and discrimination to poor service provision.

The local autism strategy is a 10-year plan and consultation on the draft strategy will run until 15 December 2014.
