The service users of Ochil Community Garden in Menstrie are celebrating winning a Gold Award at the Scottish Gardener's Pallet Gardening Competition.
The group entered a pallet around the theme of 'Disco Diva' and were delighted to win their first ever Gold Award. The success continued when the six planters that the group entered were also awarded a Gold Award, Two Silver Awards and three Bronze Awards.
A group of 15 service users have been involved in the garden preparing the pallets and planters. They travelled to the competition at Ingliston to set up and look after the displays, returning to enjoy the event and get the good news about their success.
Ochil Community Garden was developed to provide adults with a learning disability and local community groups with opportunities to experience practical gardening activities in a supported environment.
The garden is also used as a venue by the Ochil Landscape Partnership as a venue for the June festival workshops.
