A Big Club Night, aimed at helping sports clubs, teams and dance groups gain funding for their organisations, is to take place later this month.

The event will be held in Alloa Academy on Tuesday 20th May from 6pm until 9pm, and will incorporate the annual general meeting of Clackmannanshire Sports Council.

Organised by Clackmannanshire Council, in support of the Sports Council, the event will give sports clubs from all over the county the opportunity to obtain the best advice possible as to how to gain extra, much needed funding.

Education, Sport and Leisure Convener, Councillor Ellen Forson said: "There will be lots of stalls with experts on hand to give clubs and teams excellent advice and information on how to enhance their event or support their club, team or group.

"There are so many sources of funding and workshops available. And on this evening there will be plenty of top advice for our clubs to take advantage of. We hope as many people take this opportunity and come along and support the Big Club Night."

During the evening Clackmannanshire Sports Council will be holding its annual general meeting, which begins at 7pm - but the stalls and the Big Club Night will continue right through until 9pm.

Among the stallholders who have confirmed their attendance are Sports Match Awards for All from SportsScotland; Forth Valley Disability Sport; Alloa Round Table; Ochil Leisure Enterprises; Clackmannanshire Council Facilities Management; Sports Assist; Rotary Club of Alloa; CFSLA staff payroll lottery committee; the Council's partnerhsip and community support officer; community sport hubs; Clackmannan County Cricket Club and a Sports Development table, dedicated to the Commonwealth Games.

Everyone is welcome to attend and entry is free. Refreshments will also be available
