A new additional support needs dance class which started in August this year as a pilot is now running weekly sessions due to its popularity.

The Council's teams at Sports Development, Active Schools and Additional Support Needs now run the class at Alloa Academy's dance studio on Monday evenings, 4.30pm - 5.30pm.

The class is for ages 5-18 years plus and is for individuals with physical, learning or sensory disabilities, including wheelchair users.

The sessions are led by dance instructor Suzie Forsyth Adams. Suzie has adapted the sessions which allow all participants to ' get into the groove' at a pace and level comfortable to meet their needs, she has even adapted seated routines to fully include the individuals who require to use a wheelchair.

Parents and carers who bring their children along have praised the class as full of fun and enjoyment, giving the young people the chance to dress up and enjoy themselves with other participants and the teacher.
