Fourteen year old Marc Miller swam his way to three gold medals in his first ever national championships after qualifying from the Forth Valley Disability Sport regional swimming championships.

Marc is a 3rd year pupil at Alloa Academy and qualified to the national event in 25m back stroke, 25m breast stroke and 50m front crawl for the national championships.

Over 50 swimmers with physical disabilities from across Scotland took part in the event organised by Scottish Disability Sport at Grangemouth Sports Complex. Marc received his medals from 6 times paralympic swimmer Jim ' the swim ' Anderson.

Alloa Academy has supported Marc throughout the year by allowing him the time to take part in competition, and just like Marc's family and friends the staff there are very proud of his achievements.

Marc attends the Sports Development Active Schools ASN swimming programme every week at the Ochil Leisure Centre on Tuesday evening. The swimming class provides lessons for individuals with physical, learning and sensory disabilities from beginners to advanced stages.
