Dollar Community Council has recently announced that it now has membership vacancies in which it must fill in order to fulfil its function to represent the views of the community. In accordance with standard procedure, Clackmannanshire Council will now initiate an interim election so that Dollar Community Council can fill the vacancies. The first stage of an interim election is to seek nominations from local residents to become Community Councillors.

The nomination process is simple - just fill out one of our nomination forms and get two people to support you. Anyone who is over the age of 16 and who appears on our electoral roll in the Community Council area can stand.

Community Councillors need no particular qualifications or prior experience - everyone has the ability to make a contribution, and support is available.

Community Councils have a statutory function and, as such, are recognised as an important link between their Community and Clackmannanshire Council.

Closing date for nominations is Thursday 28 November 2013. For further information or to obtain a nomination pack, please contact the Council's election office on 01259 452266 or
email: elections@clacks.gov.uk or see our website.
