Active Autumn Programme gets underway on 14th October, offering a wide range of sport and activities for children and young people during the week long Autumn break.

The packed programme has been put together by a number of Council services and includes activities for pre-school children, children aged 5 - 12 years and secondary aged pupils, as well as a special coaching programme for adults.

You are invited to send a photographer to Clackmannan Primary School at 10am on Wednesday 4th September for the launch of the Active Autumn Programme.

The popular Activity Camp returns at Lornshill Academy. The Camp is a great way to meet new friends, learn new skills and have lots of fun. The Activity Camp takes place the Lornshill Academy campus, as it boasts first-class sporting facilities, and can cater for a wide range of programmes at one time.

Gartmorn Dam, celebrating its 300th anniversary this year, is also involved in Active Autumn with a unique programme of twilight events, aimed at the 11+ age group. These include night cycle events, scavenger hunts and a tai chi workshop - the twilight events are free and places are limited so make sure you book your spot soon.

Firpark Ski Centre also has a full programme of classes on offer during the October school holiday, as well as the ever popular tubing sessions.

With so many free activities on offer during the school holiday week including free swimming for all under 16 year olds, there really is something for everyone, so make sure you pick up your copy of the programme and make it an Active Autumn.

And with the Commonwealth Games only months away, a Legacy Coaching programme of leadership training, coach education, and generic courses has also been organised for during the October school holiday. This programme is a great opportunity to develop a better understanding and knowledge of the technical skills required for sport and coaching.

Education, Sport and Leisure Convenor Councillor Ellen Forson said: "This is a varied and exciting programme for all the children and young people in the area over the school holidays. This programme ensures that your holidays will be action packed, fun, safe and enjoyable."
