Want to explore wild places, learn new skills, and have some fun along the way? Then our free John Muir Award Week may be just what you're looking for.

Join our Countryside Rangers for four days of fun-packed adventure. Open to 8 - 12 year olds, participants will explore the less well known woods to the north of Gartmorn Dam.

The Award Week runs from 6th - 9th August from 10.30am - 3.30pm daily. Participants will discover and explore the woods, do some work to conserve them and then have a gathering with parents and carers on the final day to share our experiences.

The John Muir Award is a nationally recognised environmental award promoting an awareness and appreciation of wild places. It is made up of four challenges and takes four days to complete. By the end of the week you will have completed all four challenges and achieved your award. Check out www.jmt.org to find out more. To book your place call 01259 450000.

This event is part of the programme of activities to celebrate Gartmorn Dam's tercentenary.
