If you're going along to Hawkhill Fun Day this Saturday, look out for the Council information stall.

This stall is the second in a series of roadshows over the summer designed to help local people who have questions or concerns about the changes that are happening as a result of welfare reform.

Since the introduction of welfare reform, the Council has been considering in greater detail the impact of those changes on individuals and families in Clackmannanshire and has been taking a number of steps to provide additional advice, information and support.

To help the Council provide assistance, it is important that people make contact as soon as possible if they are having difficulties so that the Council is aware of the situation and able to consider what help might be available.

Council Leader Gary Womersley said: "This fun day information stall is an informal way of reaching local people with information about some of the biggest changes to the welfare benefits system in over 60 years. It had its first outing at Tillicoultry Gala last month where it was very well received and I'm sure the people of Hawkhill, Alloa, will find it just as useful. We'll have leaflets available offering a wide range of information about the changes, and as well as expert Council officers, a member of staff from the DWP will also be present to help with details guidance on benefits. There will also be giveaways for the kids, so please do check out our stall at Hawkhill fun day."

The fun day starts at 12noon and runs until 4pm and will be based at Hawkhill Community Centre. Attractions include beat the goalie, cake & candy stalls, tombola stall, jewellery stall, bouncy castle and face painting.
