The Spring Wedding Show, held at Alloa Town Hall, has been hailed a success, with around 200 people attending and over 35 exhibitors displaying everything needed for the big day.

Clackmannanshire Council's Spring Wedding Show attracted local businesses from all over the county and beyond, exhibiting everything from wedding cars to cakes and favours and from beauty salons to photographers. It was the ideal opportunity to see what was on offer to make that special day even more perfect..

Leisure Convener, Councillor Ellen Forson said: "Despite the weather people turned out in their hundreds for the show as the Council showed how it supports local businesses."

Alloa Town Hall proved that it is the perfect venue for a wedding, with the hall decorated on the day, as if a wedding was actually taking place.

"It gave everyone the chance to see the town hall in all its glory," added Councillor Forson. "And there were plenty of people available on the day to give advice, including staff from our Registrars Service. It is possible for an entire wedding to take place in the town hall, with both the ceremony and the reception. But my advice is to book as early as possible."

As well as Registrars, there were also representatives from the Council's Facility Management team on hand to arrange and explain the booking procedure and how it can also be organised for couples planning their wedding to come along and enjoy a tour of the town hall and the facilities it offers.

Not only can couples get married in the town hall, but weddings can also be held in Clackmannanshire's other two civic venues, Sauchie Hall and Cochrane Hall, Alva.

Councillor Forson added: "It was terrific to see so many people enjoy the Spring Wedding Show and get all the advice they could possible need in the lead up to the big day."
