Are you interested in giving a secure and loving home to a child? Then come along to Clackmannanshire Council's fostering information evening at Dunmar House Hotel, Alloa, from 5-7pm on Wednesday 22nd May. The event is free and refreshments will be provided.
The event, which takes place during Foster Care Fortnight, will give potential foster parents the chance to find out more about fostering; meet social workers from the fostering team; and talk to current carers.
Councillor Les Sharp, Convener of the Housing, Health and Care Committee said: "This is a fantastic chance to find out how you can make a real difference to a child's life. We need local families for local children. Social workers and current foster carers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. We offer first-class training and access to local support groups for foster parents, as well as an allocated social worker for continuity of support. For foster carers, there is pay and training available.
"You do not have to be married or in a relationship to foster - but you will need a spare bedroom and plenty of patience and understanding. I hope lots of potential carers will take the opportunity to find out more about what's involved."
