Pupils from all three Clackmannanshire secondary schools were kept very busy over the Easter Holidays with a fabulous array of Council-organised activities.

Fifteen pupils aged between 10 and 18 took part in a Leadership Camp at Lornshill Academy, learning about behaviour management, communication techniques and session planning.

They also had an opportunity to practise 'New Age Bowls' and Ian Wright from Alloa Bowling Club who came along to teach them some bowling techniques.

Education, Sport and Leisure Convener, Councillor Ellen Forson said: "They were then put through their paces and had a session on 'Junior Jog', a nationally recognised award which looks at encouraging young people to get active by playing fun jogging/running related games.

"On the last day of their camp they received training on how to deliver a 'Commonwealth Games' Flames Festival, which gave them the confidence to lead the festival on the last day of the holidays."

Thirty-five P1-P7 pupils had terrific fun at the festival which was delivered by the 15 young leaders.

The children took part in an Opening Ceremony and ran in the 'Queens Baton Relay' and then took part in five 'Commonwealth Games' sports - hockey, badminton, rugby, bowls and athletics.

All pupils received a medal and a certificate at the end of the day during the closing ceremony.
