Clackmannanshire Council, through Clackmannanshire Works and its PACE partners, has offered a range of support to the staff of Campbell's Contract Curtains Ltd of Alva, which has recently ceased trading.

The support included a Future's Fayre event which brought together a range of agencies from across Forth Valley including Skills Development Scotland, Jobcentre Plus, Forth Valley College and the Council's money advice team to offer support and advice specifically to those affected by the liquidation which has resulted in 30 job losses. The event was attended by 11 redundant employees who received advice.

Councillor Donald Balsillie, Enterprise and Environment Convenor said: "It's vital that the Council and our partners help people into work. I'd like to thank Jobcentre Plus and Skills Development Scotland for joining with the Council to put together a comprehensive event. Our sympathies are with the workforce and company."

If you have been affected by redundancy and would like to speak to someone you can contact Clackmannanshire Works on 01259 226699 or call Skills Development Scotland's free redundancy helpline on 0800 783 6000.
