Pupils at Craigbank Primary School enjoyed a fun filled science and technology day, with a variety of activities for the classes to take part in.
'Future Earth', a show about reducing, reusing and recycling, was performed to primary 1s and 2s.
Education, Sport and Leisure Convener, Councillor Ellen Forson, said: "They really enjoyed learning about the three Rs in a fun way.
"They now know how they can help the environment and how what they do will impact on our future."
Primary 1J also became detectives for the morning and had to solve the mystery of who stole the pen by learning about fingerprints.
Primary 3 and 4 worked on a variety of fun experiments learning a lot of interesting facts.
"We might even have some budding scientists among us," added Councillor Forson.
Pupils of primary 4/5 and 6 had a fantastic morning working on shape with a difference, creating some models using paper. The children were amazed how it was made with no glue. This taught them all about symmetry. In primary 6 they used large triangles to make a large tetrahedron. All children were enthusiastic and engaged in all of the activities.
Primary five and seven classes enjoyed a full day taking part in a series of planned experiments.
A number of classes took part in the spaghetti challenge which involved children working co-operatively in groups to build a tower using only spaghetti and Blu Tac. The aim was to have a tower that could stand for the longest. This was a fun activity which some children found challenging but they worked hard to achieve their goal.
In the afternoon the children had a vertical grouping challenge, involving P1-P7 working together to make a 3D model using newspaper. The children worked really well together and produced some super models.
