Strathdevon Honour the Bard

The pupils of Strathdevon Primary School saluted the national bard in style this week by holding a traditional Burns Supper at the school.

Master of Ceremonies for the event was Riccardo Calzetta, with Poussie Nancy being Amber Little.

The Address to the Haggis was delivered by Findlay Currie and the Selkirk Grace by Dillan Hunter.

The main focus, as always was on the Immortal Memory, expertly researched and proposed by Lucy Murchison, with the Toast to the Lasses given by Jack Wilson and the Reply by Isobel Findlay.

Auld Lang Syne was played on flute by Martha Tindall and Ellen Pritchard. While other entertainment included a recitation of "My Love is like a Red, Red Rose" by Jakob Monk and Ellen Culfeather. The vote of thanks was proposed by Jen McCaig.

The Ceildh Dancers at the Burns Supper were: Paulina Maslanka, Florence Howarth, Hugh Maguire, Suznne Hunter, Jack Naitby, Ben MacMillan, Erin Potter, Etai Scotland, Sarah Hardie, James Cooley, Jessica Ray, Lewis Leadbetter, Bryan Stair, Juliet Stevenson, Kieran McKay, Campbell Sumners and Suzanne Hunter.

The piper was is a former pupil of Strathdevon Primary, Andrew Ferguson, who now attends Dollar Academy.
