Clackmannanshire and Stirling Primary Schools will take part in a Scotland-wide Euroquiz organised by the award-winning Scottish European Educational Trust.

Winning teams from both authorities will compete against twenty nine other local authority teams in the national final at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh in May 2013.

Types of questions they could be quizzed on:

  • Fleur Delacour from Harry Potter comes from which European country?
  • Which Member State currently holds the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union?
  • S'il vous plaĆ®t, bitte, por favor and per favore all mean the same thing in English. What is it?

If you don't know the answers, just ask the Primary 6 pupils taking part in this year's Euroquiz. Eleven schools will take part in the joint authority heat, which will take place on Friday 1st February at Alva Primary School. Teams of four pupils will compete and the winners will go on to represent the authority at the national final.

As well as questions covering history, geography, sport, culture, and the EU, this year's Euroquiz has a language round where pupils can test their knowledge of French, German, Spanish or Italian.
