Clackmannanshire Council fraud section were shortlisted by the Home Office's National Fraud Authority to receive a national award for their work in fraud awareness and prevention.
The national awards are a UK-wide event covering a cross-sector strategy aimed at reducing fraud.
The Council's fraud section has worked tirelessly over the past few years in its attempts to identify and investigate hidden economy fraud in Clackmannanshire and as a result of their work, the section remains among the top performers in Scotland.
Resource and Audit Committee Convener, Councillor Archie Drummond, led the plaudits for the Council's Fraud Team.
Councillor Drummond said: "For the Council's fraud team to be shortlisted from over 400 other competing bodies and organisations was an achievement to be proud of and provides recognition for the work they have undertaken."
The Council continues to fight fraud in Clackmannanshire by adopting a zero tolerance approach and in keeping with this strategy, recently combined both its fraud investigation and audit functions into a single team.
The Council, who were the only local authority from Scotland shortlisted in any of the five categories, were represented at an awards ceremony in London last week where they found out they came runners-up to the City of Stoke-on-Trent Corporate Fraud Team.
The inaugural event was sponsored by the Cabinet Office, Call Credit, National Fraud Authority and Dods Parliamentary Communications.
