Pupils in primary four and five at Fishcross Primary School have struck "gold" and raised money for the school at the same time.
P4/5 were studying Charlie and The Chocolate Factory this term and wanted to be able to make some "sweet treats" themselves.
When class teacher Lesley Murrie explained that although this was a great idea, they would have to come up with an idea on how to make some money in order to buy the necessary ingredients.
Head Teacher, Linda Coutts explained: "They linked the idea of "The Golden Tickets" in Charlie in the Chocolate Factory to "lucky tickets" at school.
"They planned and organised a toy sale, writing posters, presenting their idea to the rest of the school, collecting in unwanted toys and using numeracy skills in order to work out how many "lucky tickets" there had to be in order to make a profit."
With the money they raised P4/5 bought the ingredients and helped the Learning Assistants at Fishcross Primary make treats for the tuck shop.
The total raised from the venture came to £108.67. The class is currently looking through catalogues to decide what they could buy to benefit the pupils at Fishcross Primary.
Education convener, Councillor Ellen Forson added: "The children at Fishcross Primary School are to be congratulated on the clever and innovative way of raising funds. Most importantly the project had several educational skills."
