In March a new service was set up in Sauchie to provide local people with a substance misuse related problem access to treatment and support.

As a result families and individuals can now get the help they need without having to travel out with the local area.

LADA Link brings substance related services together under one roof - Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS), Signpost Forth Valley and Locals Against Drug Abuse (LADA). The service is already being well used by families and individuals who need help, information and treatment for drug and alcohol related issues or problems.

The project has been pushed forward thanks to the determination of Provost Derek Stewart and Agnes Douglas, Chairperson of LADA.

Provost Stewart said: "After a series of drug related incidents in Sauchie an approach was made to LADA to look at how they could develop and increase accessibility to their services.

"It's taken eighteen months but now for the first time local people with a substance misuse related problem have access to a local service that can help. LADA Link is bringing much needed services into the community bringing help and support to those who are in need. Now into its third month the service is already starting to make a positive impact in relation to substance misuse."

LADA Link has been funded by Clackmannanshire Council, Coalfields Regeneration Trust and the Forth Valley Substance Action Team.

Agnes Douglas, Chairperson of LADA said: "LADA Link is for everyone in the community affected by substance misuse. We hope that by providing multi agency support, all under one roof, that we can help make a difference to people, whose lives have been touched by drugs and alcohol.

"We have received huge support from local people and thank them for their willingness to let us try something different based in their community. As long as we have people coming into the centre looking for either information, advice, treatment or support we know that things can get better."
