Trading Standards Awareness Day

Stirling and Clackmannanshire Council's Trading Standards Service, together with Central Scotland Police are planning an awareness day in the Thistle Centre, Stirling.

As well as Trading Standards and the Police, Central Scotland Fire Service, Environmental Health, Young Scot and Youth Services will be in attendance all day on Wednesday, 10th October.

Clackmannanshire Council's Environment and Enterprise Convener, Councillor Donald Balsillie said: "The aim of the awareness day is to raise general awareness of the role of trading standards as well as issues such as personal safety within the community, fire safety and food safety."

Representatives from GHD will be present to give advice on how to avoid being conned into buying counterfeit versions of their products and to protect yourself against imitation products

Youth Services supported by Young Scot will be situated in the precinct outside Costa Coffee and will be promoting the PASS approved National Entitlement/Young Scot Card where retailers, licensed premises can drop by to find out more. Young People can also find out how to apply for their card on the day.
