Clackmannanshire Ramblers Club began their new season of walks this week, with an exciting programme due to run through to June 2013.

The rambler volunteer walk leaders are ordinary club members who give up their own time to prepare and lead the walks, fully supported by the Clackmannanshire Ranger Service.

If you enjoy walking in the countryside and prefer being with a group of like minded people than on your own. The Ramblers Club is for you. Walks are designed to suit all and take place within Clackmannanshire as well as further afield .

Launching the new programme of walks, Councillor Donald Balsillie, Convenor of the Council's Environment and Enterprise Committee, said: "We are always on the look out for new volunteer walk leaders."

Walkers are advised that they are properly equipped with waterproofs and boots with ankle support, and to check the description and the grade of the walk to ensure you are fit and prepared to undertake such a walk.

The Ramblers meet every third Tuesday at the car park behind Alva factory outlet, West Stirling Street, Alva.

Walks are led by experienced club members. Car sharing is used to travel to the start of local walks and coaches are hired for more distant venues. Volunteer rambler leaders give up their free time to prepare and lead the walks, and once you have been a member for a while you may wish to volunteer.

Annual Membership costs £7.00. An additional charge (£9.00) is made for walks requiring coach travel. For all outings, meet at the Car Park behind the Factory Outlet, West Stirling Street, Alva at the start time shown. Please note that return times are approximate.
Booking is essential for all outings requiring coach travel - contact: Alloa Library, Speirs Centre, 29 Primrose Street, Alloa. Telephone 01259 213131 Payment must be made at the time of booking.
