Clackmannanshire Council's Ranger Service will be holding their annual, and always popular "Bat Walk" this Saturday, 1st September, between 7.30pm and 9.30 pm.

It will take place at Ochil Hills Woodland Park, Alva.

This is the time of the year when younger bats are no longer reliant on their mothers for food.

This means that they are out hunting and the chances of seeing them and the adults are very good .

Listen out for bats with the aid of bat detectors and watch their aerial acrobatics as they fly above the group catching tasty midges . Keep your senses alert for other creatures of the night . If you are lucky you may hear Owls calling.

People taking part are advised to bring warm clothing , sturdy footwear and a torch .
