The Wallace, Alva and Alloa girls achieved more rugby success this week at the Scottish Rugby Union's tournament at Broughton in Edinburgh.

All their hard work and dedication paid off as they fought off the challenge of five other teams to win the Under-18 School sevens Champions trophy.

It is the third title that the girls have won this season, having previously gained success, winning the Brewin Dolphin Bowl at Murrayfield, with Stirling County and the Emirates Airline Sevens National Cup at Scotstoun, with Wallace.

Convenor of Education, Sport and Leisure, Councillor Ellen Forson, said: "It capped off a fine season by the girls and we at Clackmannanshire Council would extend our congratulations to them for their outstanding success. They have done themselves, their families and the county proud."

The winning team were: Wallace - Gabrielle Cloquet, Gabriella Fuentes, Eilidh Gibson, Vicky Gray, Lee Hannah, Rhianna Henderson. Alva - Megan Kennedy (player of the day), Rona Johnson. Alloa - Kirsty Murrell, Megan Thomson.
