Shared Solutions Conference

A Conference will take place in Alloa next week aimed at finding solutions to improving health and tackling homelessness.

Clackmannanshire Joint Health and Homelessness Conference 2012 will be held at Alloa Town on Wednesday, 23rd May.

Following a formal welcome from Conference chairman, John Gillespie, Clackmannanshire Council's Head of Community and Regulatory Services, Kenny Hutton, the council's Service Manager Regeneration Services will update delegates on highlights from last years event, what has happened since, and things that have progressed both locally and strategically.

The theme of the Conference is "Where do we go from here? 'Looking to 2012 Changes and Beyond."

Mr Gillespie said: "This conference will provide an opportunity for Local Service Providers to hear about important changes for 2012 including changes to welfare benefits, homelessness responsibilities and housing support and the chance to voice their views and opinions."

The conference aims to work towards the development of the annual action plan
to share up to date information and launch a new information pack to identify key issues to support local service provision.

The council's senior adviser on money advise and welfare benefits, Yvonne Sharp will address Conference on the changes to Welfare Benefits, before the focus falls on Wilson Lees, Clackmannanshire Council's Homelessness Supporting People and Advice Manager, who will give a detailed update on the Homelessness situation.

The conference will conclude with an audio presentation from Services followed by workshops, feedback and a question and answer session.
