Clackmannanshire Council has completed major road improvements on one of the busiest routes in the county.

Road works began on the A907 between Marywood Roundabout and the Gartarry roundabout on Sunday 11th March 2012 and were completed on schedule.

The road, the main route into Clackmannan/Alloa from the east, was closed for one day, on Sunday 11th March, and works continued for a further four weeks between Marywood roundabout and Gartarry Roundabout from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with temporary traffic lights in operation.

John Gillespie, Head of Community and Regulatory Services, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to motorists during this time, but the work carried out was essential and will be beneficial in the long term for everyone who uses this busy route. We would like to thank motorists for their patience during the road works."

Road markings will be completed by the end of this week, depending on weather conditions, but all the resurfacing work was concluded on time.
