Councillors are set to enjoy a visit to Class Cuisine, Clackmannanshire Council's catering service in Sauchie this Wednesday morning, 7th March.

Council leader, Councillor Gary Womersley, will lead a tour of fellow councillors to Class Cuisine to see the catering operation in full swing. The Sauchie based catering service provides on average 2000 meals a day.

During the visit Councillor Womersley will meet, and chat to the staff, before sitting down to lunch.

Class Cuisine, who have been in business for six years, provide meals to our primary and secondary schools, as well as Ludgate and Whins Resource Centres, Alloa Family Centre and to the Meals on Wheels Service.

Councillor Womersley said: "We are delighted that paid for school meals will remain at £1.60 for the eighth year in a row, and in addition, schoolchildren in the county are set to enjoy the benefits of breakfast clubs which we are opening in our schools shortly, one of the key policy announcements at last month's budget."

Clackmannanshire led the way as the first council in Scotland to offer a range of delicious dinners, frozen, and delivered to your door when it launched the service in November 2010.

This service is open to everyone and delivery is free to people living in Clackmannanshire.
The individual frozen meal service is also provided by Class Cuisine, the Council's catering service, which also produces school meals and meals on wheels.
