Abercromby Primary School is making sure students get a taste of democracy with a mock election on 30 September. The pupils are learning about voting, elections and democratic representation.

Portfolio holder for Partnership Councillor Kenny Earle is attending to answer the pupils' questions about the role of elected members. You are invited to send a photographer at 13.00.

Councillor Earle said, "Learning about elections fits into Curriculum for Excellence, preparing young people to take an active role in their local communities and become involved citizens. The Council also wants to promote voting and participation for all our residents and we hope that if children are aware and interested in these issues they will persuade their parents to make sure their voices are heard at elections."
