Klacksun, the Clackmannanshire mental health users' network, is celebrating the opening of its first dedicated premises on Friday 10th October. The newly developed space at Carsebridge House will bring the network together for the first time, with meeting space, work space and IT.
Mental health service users and service providers are invited to the official opening between 11am and 3pm. Jane Menzies, Service Manager for Integrated Mental Health Service, will speak, as will members of Klacksun about their involvement. Stuart Cochrane, the newly appointed Peer Support Worker for NHS Forth Valley, will also speak. This is an excellent opportunity to find out more about Klacksun and its positive contribution to the development of mental health services. A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Gina Alexander, User Involvement Worker, said 'It's great to have our own premises with the space to get together. We'll have meeting rooms and access to IT that will really help us to reach more people and expand the range of activities we offer. We're hoping to encourage people to drop by now for the first time we have a base where people can come and see us.'
People who want to attend should RSVP to Klacksun, 01259 215048, galexander@clacks.gov.uk. Carsebridge House is at 3-8 Carsebridge Court, Alloa, FK10 3LQ.
Klacksun is the Clackmannanshire Service Users Network. The network spans across all statutory mental health services, voluntary organisations and groups in Clackmannanshire and is supported by Clackmannanshire Council Integrated Mental Health Service and Clackmannanshire Community Health Partnership.
The role of the network is to inform and represent people who use mental health services, to highlight issues which concern people who use mental health services and to respond to requests for comment on mental health issues from a service users' perspective.
