Ludgate House marked National Older People's Day on 1st October by making new connections with local youngsters.

This year's Older People's Day was all about bringing generations together. There are many benefits of getting to know people outside of your own age group and of being active in the community where you live.

A group of S6 pupils from Alloa Academy visited Ludgate House on the morning of 1st October and learned some traditional Scottish recipes and cooked stovies for the day care group.

Later in the day P7 pupils from Sunnyside Primary School visited and took part in a reminiscence group, when a group of older people told the youngsters about the playground games they used to play when they were at school.

This was the first time that Ludgate House had taken part in Older People's Day and it is hoped that the connections established with local school children will continue.
