Clackmannanshire's first Walking Festival has been hailed an outstanding success by organisers.
Walkers, aged from a few months old to 86, came from all over central Scotland to enjoy the county's magnificent scenery heritage and wildlife.
The festival boasted 19 walks with something to suit all ages and abilities and the event attracted 258 walkers over the four days. The walks were led by knowledgeable volunteers and a total of 11 different organisations and individuals made the walks possible.
Karen Kirkwood, the Council's Activities and Events Co-ordinator, said: "I think everyone will agree the Festival was a tremendous success and I would like to thank all those involved - especially the volunteers.
"An event attracting local and national interest in the county is great news for tourism and for local business and I am looking forward to building on this success next year."
The most popular walks in this year's programme were 'A Walk on the Dark Side', 'Ancient Trees and Silver Mines' and the 'Lowland Stroll Through Eastern Clackmannanshire'.
Plans to repeat the Walking Festival next year are being discussed with a view to making it part of the Homecoming Scotland celebrations and Clackmannanshire's Meet Your Ancestors programme of events.
