Forth Valley Business Diversity Awards 2008 will be held on Thursday 25th September at Cochrane Hall, Alva. The awards recognise and reward businesses that demonstrate best practice in recruitment and retention of people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
The Awards are sponsored by Forth Valley Supported Employment Network and will be attended by Anne McGuire MP for Stirling and Minister for Disabled People, Keith Brown MSP for Ochil and Provosts from Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Falkirk Councils.
Forth Valley has provided excellent examples of supportive employers who have discovered the contribution people from diverse backgrounds and abilities make to their workplace. It is important to celebrate that, and to communicate the message and good practice to other Forth Valley Employers.
The event features guest speakers and an Equality & Diversity Awareness session.
The award categories are as follows: Recruitment, Retention, Social Firm and Overall Winner. Category Winners go forward to the Scottish Business Diversity Awards, which will be held at Balbirnie House, Fife, later this year.
Nominees from Clackmannanshire include Alva Motor Company, Marchglen Care Centre, Independent Living Services, Tulliallan Golf Club, Royal Oak Hotel, Whins Resource Centre, ALLOA Resource Centre, Meals on Wheels, Candies Cuisine, and Re-Cyke-a-Bike.
