Clackmannanshire Writer's In Residence, Tom Murray and Stuart Hepburn are delighted to announce that there have been almost 70 submissions for "Unheard Voices" the poetry and prose anthology for Wee County Writers.

Tom commented: "When we set up the competition asking for new pieces of work, we had no idea if we would get enough submissions. We have been delighted and overwhelmed by the scope, ambition and number of writing pieces put forward."

Stuart added: "It makes all the hard work we have put in over the last 18 months worthwhile when you can see the evidence of the talent and energy shown by local writers."

Tom, Stuart and local writer Ian Russell now have the unenviable task of sorting through the work and selecting those who will be published in the final anthology. They plan to let all the submitters know what the situation is by the end of August, and are looking forward to the publication in time for Christmas. Well done to all who participated.
