Clackmannanshire's pupils are showcasing their involvement in Enterprise in Education and Health Promotion through an county-wide event at Alloa Town Hall on Wednesday 18th June 2008.
Enterprise and Education, launched as part of the Scottish Executive's Determined to Succeed strategy in 2003, has seen the formation of links between local schools, businesses and partners. It encompasses pupils from nursery to S6 and is about developing enterprising skills and attitudes, life skills, an understanding of the world of work and the confidence and determination to take their career choices forward.
This year, the showcase will highlight our schools' approach to Health Promotion emphasising the partnerships and contributions made. A Health Promoting school is one in which all members of the school community work together to provide pupils with integrated and positive experiences and structures which promote and protect their health.
The day offers all those involved the chance to share good practice and provides an opportunity to celebrate the excellent work that has been taking place this session.
The Joint Showcase will formally open at 11am and will include recognition of this year's Enterprise Awards including, The Provost's Award, K'Nex Challenge, Double Your Money and the Machin and Lawscript Art Competition winners and official acknowledgement of the success of the Forth Valley Health Promoting Establishment Accreditation Scheme.
You are invited to send a photographer at 10.45am for the 11am official opening.
Each school will be invited to send three pupils to the event, who will be allocated a table and display board to show how Enterprise in Education/Health Promotion approaches have been embedded within their curriculum.
Pupils will be asked to invite their own partners and businesses that have worked with them. There will be a Fruity Kebab Challenge on the day for pupils highlighting the showcase links.
The showcase is open to all parents and friends from 10.30am until 2pm to give guests the opportunity to visit the school displays and talk to the pupils about their experiences.
