Clackmannanshire Council Early Years and Family Worker Angela Ferrie was the top fundraiser at a recent event at Knockhill Racing Circuit. Angela, who works at the Alloa Family Centre, drove a range of vehicles on the course and raised over £600 as a result.

Angela drove a Green Goddess fire engine, a JCB, a 4 x 4 and an AgraCat. She says, I've always loved fire engines and it was a great opportunity to drive the amazing Green Goddess. It seemed right to make the Fire Fighters Charity the recipient of the sponsorship money as fire fighters do such a lot of good work and need all the support they can get.

Support from colleagues

Angela gave her thanks to her Council colleagues, especially those at the Family Centre, who supported her challenge, as well as Clackmannanshire Unison and local coach firm M-Line which both gave donations. Angela raised more than any other participant in the event.

Charity

The Fire Fighters Charity, previously known as the Fire Services Benevolent Fund, provides services that enhance the quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.
