Clackmannanshire Council Sports Development and Clackmannanshire County Gymnastics Squad jointly organised the Easter Gymnastics Week at Tulligarth. Nearly 40 children took part from 7 to 11 April with each child working tirelessly to produce a performance for the end of the week competition.

Friday display competition

The practice clearly paid off, with some highly entertaining and fun displays. The audience loved the inventive use of the ribbons, balls and hoops within the routines. Creative movements that the children had thought up were practiced under the guidance of the coaches for Friday.

There were a few gasps and as well from the audience, with 10 of the Clackmannanshire County Gymnasts participating in their own section of the competition. These gymnasts performed over the floor, vault and beam. The talent on show was a joy to watch and will surely inspire some of the other developing gymnasts there.

Developing talent

The lead Gymnastics Coach commented, Personally I thought that there was a lot of promising potential on show. A lot of hard work and effort throughout the week lead to some fantastic displays from the recreational gymnasts. Well done to everyone: it was an excellent end to a thoroughly productive week.

Ryan Martin, Clackmannanshire Council Sports Development, commented,I was so impressed by the standard of performance and the participants' determination and skill. On the Friday, the audience really enjoyed watching the displays and the parents and family members were really proud. A big congratulations to all that took part and a big thanks to the coaches Andrea, Tammy, Jennifer and Rachel who made this gymnastics week such a positive experience.
