Pupils reached for the stars last week when they took part in a new earth and space activities event.
Star-tastic was held over two evenings and was a partnership between Clackmannanshire Council's Determined to Succeed Team, Stirling Astronomical Society, Glasgow Science Centre and the Forestry Commission. The event was part-funded by the Institute of Physics.
A total of 80 P6 and P7 pupils from eight primary schools were invited to take part in an evening of fun interactive activities that brought the skies to life.
The evening included practical workshops and demonstrations such as comet making and rockets led by the Glasgow Science Centre outreach team as well as the opportunity to work with enthusiastic local astronomers from the Stirling Astronomical Society.
The setting was David Marshall Lodge in Aberfoyle and although it is usually a dark sky site the Scottish weather meant that outdoor stargazing was sadly not possible. However the pupils had plenty of activities to keep them occupied.
Pupils have described the event as 'amazing' despite the weather!
This event forms part of the Council's Determined to Succeed strategy which aims to encourage a 'can-do, will-do' attitude amongst young people. The evening provided the pupils with the opportunity to reinforce their learning in a unique environment.
The schools involved were: St Mungo's Primary, Alva Primary, Craigbank Primary, Tillicoultry Primary,Abercromby Primary, Coalsnaughton Primary, Menstrie Primary, St John's Primary.
