Improvement Plans for Johnstone Park on Show

Ideas to revamp Johnstone Park to make it more accessible to families all year round are about to go on show in Alva.

Earlier this year the Council's Land Services invited three companies to submit their ideas to improve the park. These drawings were made available for public consultation at a drop-in session in January.

There was a great response to the drop-in consultation with around 100 local residents coming along to the Dalmore Centre to find out more about the plans and 80 questionnaires were completed - there was a particularly good response rate from local young people.

Land Services has now assessed all the feedback which shows that the majority of those who took part in the consultation are in favour of the boating pond being replaced.

The plans which show a mixture of sand and water play areas alongside a traditional play area will be on show in the Dalmore Centre on Monday 7th April from 2.30pm to 6pm.

The Council intends to complete the improvement works in Johnstone Park by 31st March 2009.
