A group of Clackmannanshire young people have organised a week of sporting events for the whole community to enjoy in aid of Sports Relief.
Members of the Choose Sport First group, who are local 10-16 year olds, have arranged a range of activities from a Wii tournament and trampolining to more traditional athletics and badminton. The events have been organised in conjunction with Clackmannanshire Council Sports Development.
The Sports Relief Extravaganza takes place at Tulligarth Leisure Centre in Alloa from Monday 10th March to Sunday 16th March. The events will be taking place in the evenings on 10th-13th March and then all day on 16th March, which coincides with Sports Relief weekend when thousands of people across the UK will be doing something sporty to raise money for this good cause.

- Comic Relief spends the money raised to help vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
- Since Sport Relief started £2,336,610 has been spent on projects in Scotland. These include 'Venture Scotland' which helps young adults to rebuild their lives after leaving care or experiencing domestic abuse, homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction and mental health problems. The project combines challenging outdoor activities with intensive counselling to inspire a sense of achievement and determination. Sport Relief cash has also helped Glasgow-based Indepen-Dance, which offers modern dance therapy to adults with learning difficulties and Edinburgh-based Health All Round - a community project which reaches out to isolated older people. Sport Relief money is also working to deter young people from anti-social behaviour and street crime by engaging them in evening basketball sessions run by Shoot 4 Success.
