Notice of Election - Local Government Election 4 May 2017

Clackmannanshire Council

Councillors are to be elected for each of the five wards of Clackmannanshire Council. The number of councillors to be elected for each ward is as follows:

Ward 1 Clackmannanshire West - 4
Ward 2 Clackmannanshire North - 4
Ward 3 Clackmannanshire Central - 3
Ward 4 Clackmannanshire South - 4
Ward 5 Clackmannanshire East - 3

The poll will be held in each contested ward between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 4 May 2017.

Standing for election
Nomination papers may be delivered to the Returning Officer, to the following place and at the following dates and times:

  • Place to collect and deliver nomination papers - Returning Officer, Election Office, Clackmannanshire Council, Kilncraigs, Greenside Street, Alloa, FK10 1EB
  • First collection/delivery permitted - 10am, Tuesday 14 March 2017
  • Collection/delivery permitted - between 10am and 4pm on any working day until the deadline given below
  • Deadline for delivery of nomination papers - 4pm on Wednesday 29 March 2017

Nomination papers may be obtained at the places and times mentioned above. The Returning Officer will, at the request of any elector, prepare for signature a nomination paper.

Applications for registration, postal and proxy voting
Applications to be included on the register of electors or for postal or proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer, Hillside House, Laurelhill Business Park, Stirling, FK7 9JQ by the dates given below:

Application deadlines

  • Register to vote - Monday 17 April 2017
  • New postal vote applications (including proxies applying to vote by post) - 5pm on Tuesday 18 April 2017
  • To cancel or alter postal and proxy votes, or to change from postal to proxy voting - 5pm on Tuesday 18 April 2017
  • New proxy vote applications - 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2017
  • To vote by proxy, after 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2017, on the grounds of a medical emergency or where you learn you cannot go to the polling station because of work/service reasons - 5pm on Thursday 4 May 2017
