Environmental Services brings together a wide range of Council functions. The Unit comprises a number of Teams structured to operate effectively and efficiently with other Council services and outside agencies. Click on the appropriate team for further information:
Environmental Health
Comprising the Safety, Health and Environment Team, and the Food and Licensing Team. Providing a range of services including:
- Food Safety
- Health and Safety
- Pollution Control
- Water quality
- Pest Control
- Dog Control
- Health Promotion
- Contaminated Land Remediation
- Smoking Control

Trading Standards
Promotes fair trading in goods and services by providing advice, education and information and a complaints investigation service within Clackmannanshire.
Objective:- “To promote Fair Trading in relation to goods and services and to ensure the safety of goods supplied to the public in Clackmannanshire.”

Land Services and Burial Grounds
Providing an integrated Service carrying out:
- Grounds Maintenance
- Parks and Play Area provision
- Weed Control and Verge maintenance
- Tree and shrub maintenance
- Street Care and Litter Control
- Horticultural Services
- Environmental Improvements
- Countryside maintenance
- Burial Grounds Service and cemetery maintenance.
Objective:- “To enhance the quality of life for people living, working in and visiting Clackmannanshire by maintaining, monitoring and protecting the physical and natural environment by providing safe quality play areas, parks, open spaces and a Burial Grounds service.”

Waste Services
Providing a domestic and commercial waste collection service to over 21,000 properties throughout Clackmannanshire every week and to operate a disposal and recycling service at the Forthbank Recycling Centre in Alloa. Also providing a weekly kerbside collection of recyclable material utilising the services of Alloa Community Enterprises.
Objective:- “To enhance the quality of life for people living, working in and visiting Clackmannanshire through the provision of a Waste Management Service which provides Best Value to the Council.”
